So they go wonderfully with the dark, rich colors. We then painted Jacobs' room bright blue(home town hero), bright yellow(electron yellow), and the ceiling light blue(100 acre sky).
When we paint kids rooms we don't do normal suttle colors as you can tell, we go for the bold different colors. But hey we like it. On top of that we painted the kids/guest bathroom. Now for the bathroom we did do a more neutral color due to the fact that it is a guest bathroom also. The bathroom is a pale yellow(angel cake). We then put up a sports border. It is a denim blue background with baseballs, basketballs, footballs, and soccer balls.

They all look so real. I kept telling Eric that if I touch them enough I might feel the leather. I love it all and it couldn't have turned out better.
Now for more changes. Since we have been painting Jacob's room at night he has not been able to sleep in there. I don't need him smelling fresh paint all night!:) So he has been sleeping in Thomas' room on the bottom bunk.
That has been our plan from the beginning. He has been doing awesome! The first night, Sunday, we missed our window of getting him to bed without a fuss. So I put Thomas to bed and took Jacob to the living room and rocked him. He has not let me do that in a long time. It was so sweet and special. Sitting in the living room with all the lights and TV off with the exception of the tree lights. He fell asleep around 10 pm. That is anywhere from 3 to 2 1/2 hours past his bedtime. I put him in his bed and he slept all night! YES!!! He woke up at 6 am. He woke up the entire house because he was standing at the bottom of the ladder yelling 'BUBBA!, BUBBA!'. So we all got up. Nice little alarm clock. Well last night he went to bed early, 6 pm! If he wakes up early he takes an early nap which means he goes to bed early. That helped us because I could then focus on Thomas, get him to bed and help Eric finish the bedroom and bathroom. He slept till 11pm woke up, got his pacifier and went back to sleep. Then at 5:30 am, yes I said 5:30 am, Eric and I woke up to - 'MOMMY!, MOMMY! A choo-choo!' Jacob was standing in our doorway. And yes there was a train. The train tracks are a couple of miles away but he heard them. So I take him back to bed, after confirming that yes it was a choo-choo, and he laid there till 6 am. Eric went ahead and got up and went to work. So at 6 am he woke up Thomas and we started our day. Not sure I'm fond of trains right now, I lost an hour of sleep because of them. But that is ok because it was so cute to see him standing there holding his little blanket. Well now he is back asleep for a nap. He fell asleep watching 'Blue's Clues'. He was sitting there playing with my car keys watching cartoons and just fell over onto a pillow. Too cute.
Guess what, more changes! We are turning Jacob's room into a playroom for the boys. Hence the bright colors in there. You know what that means - the crib had to come down :(, it was so hard to not cry. My baby is growing up. He doesn't even care that he no longer has a crib. Makes Mommy want to cry again. But I'm so excited that they are going to have a room that all the toys can go into and out of my living room!
We are going to also try and finish the rest of the house before Christmas with the exception of our room and bathroom. Why you ask. Well I will tell you - We are having Christmas at our house this year. YEA!!! I'm so excited. My family said not to worry if the house isn't finished but it matters to me and Eric. So we are going to bust it trying to get it all done. Pray for us please.
So now that you know what we have been doing the past week I need to get back to sorting toys, organizing, and putting the playroom together.
Lord - Please be with us as we try to finish our house and get it ready for Christmas. Thank you for Jacob transitioning so easily to a big boy bed, it has been a blessing. Please be with Thomas and all the changes. Please help Eric and I find a way to show Thomas that even with all the changes he is still special to us. Watch over us through all of this and keep us well. Amen.
