Well summer is here and we are 1 week in to it. We have been so busy the past week! We have been walking and going to the splash pads with Sarah, Kara, Erika, and all the kiddos. We've had a couple of baseball games and one last practice before the BIG game.
Last night was the BIG game. It was the game that decided if we stayed in the tournament or if we were done. Well we had a 100% tie with the other team! Same number of runs and outs! That has never happened before. So after trying all 5 tie breakers we flipped a coin. We lost. So that put us in the losers bracket and knocked us out of the tournament. But at least we know that we 'won' and ended the season on a good note. It was an awesome game. All the kids played the hardest I had ever seen. They hit the ball with all their strength and ran as fast as their little legs could carry them. Monday evening we are having the team party at the coaches house, swimming and pizza. What more could a group of 5-6 year olds want. Thomas is so excited.
This summer I have something planned for every day, with the help of my friends Sarah, Kara, and Erika. On Mondays and Fridays we walk at the park and then let the kids play at the splash pad. Tuesdays are pool days, either public or at Erika's house. Thursdays are movie days, and Wednesdays are Ladies Bible Class, but until that starts up we are walking that day too. Makes me tired just to type that all out. We are doing our best to stay busy and entertained. We are all trying to get healthy and so this is our support and accountablity group. I'm loving it. I look forward to the walks, pool day and movie day. It helps me keep up with the days of the week! I love having friends that I can be myself around and that will hold me accountable for the getting healthy pack that we made. I'm so blessed that God gave these friends to me.
I'm also part of a book club with some ladies. So far we have read the books - God Has A Dream For Your Life - by Shelia Walsh and Captivating - by John & Stasi Eldredge. I have learned so much from these books. We are now reading Believing God - by Beth Moore. I still need to go and buy this book. I will see if I can get out today and go buy it. I'm so excited about this book. I can't wait to see what it holds and how it applies to my life.
Tonight we are going out to eat for Eric's birthday. He is 28 today. Thomas just came and asked me if we could go and get a cake for Daddy. I told him we would go to the store and see what we could find. Eric isn't a big sweets type person so it won't be a big cake. Just something for the 4 of us and something that I know that he likes. Just have to see if the stores have anything that fits those requirements. If not then I guess I will be baking while Jacob takes a nap.
In about 2 weeks our nephew will be coming to stay with us for 10 days, my sister and bother-in-law are going to Italy. He and Jacob are 9 weeks apart. I will have to let you know how that goes but I'm so excited. Then at the end of June we will be making a trip to Illinois to visit Eric's family. We are going to stop in Arkanasas, on the way, to see some Aunts and Uncles and then try to come back home through Mississippi so that we can see that part of Eric's family also. We have a busy month in front of us. I love being busy like this. It makes time fly so fast. But we also get to make lots of memories.
Well that is all I have to say for now. Sorry that it was so long but when I don't blog for awhile and a lot happens then it tends to get long. Hope you all have a safe and happy summer. God bless you.
Dear Lord - Thank you for my friends and family. Thank you for allowing us to have this time together and for making memories that will last a lifetime. Watch over and take care of us through out the days and weeks to come. In Your Name - Amen
