Paci Update

We are on day 5 of not having a pacifier. Jacob asked for it last night but soon forgot about it. (Read - had a huge fit and then went and played) He only took a 15 minute nap yesterday while in the car, hence the fit for the pacifier. Today he went down for nap late, he was hyper and not wanting to nap but Mommy needed him to nap. He finally fell asleep! I thought that bedtime would be the hardest time for him to settle down without the pacifier but I was wrong. It is nap time. I told Eric that if giving up the paci meant giving up nap I wasn't sure I was ready. I just need to keep putting him down for nap, at the right time, and he will get used to it. I need to have faith, persistence, and prayer. Last night during the fit I left the room and breathed deep and prayed: 'This too shall pass'. It helped a lot. I was able to come back to the room and calmly tell him that paci is lost and we can't find it. Hint: they are in the trash outside! But don't tell him that, lol! I know that if we can make it to Friday then we are good to go. Baby steps, baby steps. Have a great day!
