The past 6 months have had their ups and downs. Right now I can think of more downs than ups but I know that for every down God has at least on up. For example
Feburary 2006:
I lost my job but I was able to be home to help my friend Sarah in her last couple months of pregnancy. Especially when she fell and had to keep her foot up a lot. It was so fun to be able to answer the phone and say ' Sure I'll be right there!' We went and spent a long weekend in Houston with my sister and brother-in-law for my nephew Xander's birthday. Lots of fun!
March 2006:
I was able to go to meet my Mom and Nannie for their birthday lunch and not have to worry about taking the time off of work.
April 2006:
It started off pretty rough because I lost my Dad in a car accident. But I was able to just sit at home and do nothing and go to the funeral without having to find someone work for me.
We had our friends, Easy and Sarah, over for Easter lunch - hamburgers and hot dogs on the pit. Both families were spending the day alone so why not spend the day together. We ate, laughed, the kiddos played, and we thought that Miss Vivian was going to make her entrance to the world but she decided she wasn't done cookin'.
Jacob had his 1st birthday. WOW!! What fun. We had family and friends over to help us celebrate. Miss Vivian made her entrance the day before the party so the Fosters weren't able to be there but that is ok.
I finally turned 25! Yea!!!!!
May 2006:
Eric and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. I love that man so much!
We celebrated Mother's Day with just the 3 of us. I loved every minute of it.
June 2006:
Eric turned 27. We went out to eat and had fun.
We celebrated Father's Day with just the 3 of us. I had a good time but it was hard to not pick up the phone and call my Dad.
We found out that Eric's grandfather had cancer and didn't have much time left.
July 2006:
We went to Illinois for July 4th. Stopped at Boomland on the way and spent way to much on fireworks. Spent the week with Eric's family. We had a great fireworks show. Eric's grandfather enjoyed it very much. His favorite holiday was July 4th. Just like my dad. We went back to Illinois a few weeks later and just spent the weekend.
August 2006:
Thomas started Kindergarten. Wow that was tough on me.
We got the phone call that Eric's grandfather had past away and we loaded up the car and left. We laughed, we cried. It was good for all.
Now we are back home and trying to get back to the way life flows. You know I notice something this weekend. It doesn't matter how old you are when you lose a loved one or how you lose them, it hurts all the same.
Dear God - Thank you for all that you have done for us. Thank you for all that you have taught me this past few months. Thank you for letting us travel safely. Please continue to watch over us and take care of us. Amen.
