Long Weekend

Wow! We have had a very long weekend. Friday my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew came to stay the night with us. Saturday we had our family Christmas party in Hilltop and it was just smarter for them to come as far as our house and stay.
We got up, got ready and went to Hilltop and spent the afternoon and evening at my Aunt's house. I love our family Christmas party so much. All the women sit around the table talking and laughing, the men sit in the livingroom watching whatever sport is on, and the kids are in another room playing. Good times for all.
We left my Aunt's house around 10:30 pm and both Jacob and Xander slept on the way home and stayed asleep all night!!! Thomas stayed awake which isn't all that unusual but he kept saying that he didn't feel good. I just thought it was because he hadn't eaten in a few hours and I told him when we got home that I would get him a lite snack. We get home and he is still not feeling good so he ate a small snack and had a small glass of milk. He went to bed still complaining that he didn't feel good. (I should have known then). Well around 1:30 am he came in and told me that he still didn't feel good. I told him to get a drink of water and lay down. He came back to me at least 4 more times within the hour. He then went to bed. Later on that night he came back to tell me that he had thrown up in his bed. So I get up and change his sheets and clean his bed as best as I can in the dark. He then proceeded to get sick about 4 more times, this time in the bathroom. Sunday morning he got up and I made him take a shower and he got out, got dressed and went back to bed. He slept a little bit more. Got up tried to eat and then went back to bed. I thought we were in the clear with him getting sick but around 7pm last night it came back. So he is home from school today. He is feeling better now. He really had me worried yesterday because he never just goes to bed and sleeps like that. Jacob kept going to the door and checking on him. So sweet! Now I just pray that Jacob doesn't get whatever Thomas had. We kept them apart all day yesterday but now that Thomas is feeling better he is wanting to play with Jacob. I'm still trying to keep them out of each others faces. It is hard. They love each other so much. So today is a pj day and tomorrow (if all goes well today) is school for both boys and a day of rest for Mommy.
We also found out Friday evening that Eric's work schedule has changed and he has been assigned to a crew. That means he goes out on Monday morning with that crew and comes home when they come home. Sometimes it is daily and sometimes it is on the weekends. From the look of this weeks schedule he will be home maybe 3 nights this week. I'm trying to be upbeat and not upset about this, I mean what can I do. We are just going to handle it and go with the flow.
So that has been our weekend. Please keep us in your prayers as Thomas gets back to 100% and that the rest of us don't get what Thomas had. That also goes for my sister and her family.

Dear Lord - Thank you for the family time that we were able to have this weekend. Thank you for Thomas feeling better today and that he wasn't as sick as he could have been. Please help the rest of us to not get whatever he had. Please be with Eric as he is out in the field this week. Please be with the boys and I as we are at home adjusting to this new schedule. Watch over and take care of all of our family. In Your Name - Amen

No fun! Paris was home today too - no puking though so I think we had it better at our house.

Sorry to hear about the change in Eric's schedule. Keep me informed and please know that you are always welcome at my house. If he's been out a few days and you're going nuts just come on over and join our looney bin - it's always better with friends!

Husband's schedules can sometimes be like my sons' stinky socks...in the end the do get clean and odor free, though. Prayers and blessings.
